Bankruptcy Judge Wants 50 to Explain $$ On Instagram Post

U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge in Harford, CT  wants rapper 50 Cent in her courtroom to explain recent photos posted on Instagram showing him handling a lot of cash.
Lawyers for the creditors to whom 50 Cent owes millions brought the photos to U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Ann Nevins' attention in a proposed debt payment plan filed by 50 Cent's largest creditors.

"I am concerned about this case," Nevins said during a hearing Thursday in Hartford, according to an audio recording. "The statements in the disclosure statement are specific and inflammatory. And I feel the court needs to address them, directly, with debtor's counsel, the creditors in the case, the office of the U.S. trustee. And I feel it may be necessary for the debtor to be present."

Holley L. Claiborn, a lawyer with the U.S. Trustee, a Justice Department agency that oversees bankruptcy proceedings, said she too is concerned about the allegations leveled against Jackson.
"We think that those allegations are significant, they are serious, and they ought to be explored," Claiborn said.
In a court filing, Jackson's lawyers dismissed concern about the photos. Jackson "is in the entertainment and promotion business and must maintain his brand and image (or those of the products he is promoting)," Jackson's lawyers wrote. If the creditors had a legitimate concern about the photos, they could have simply asked. The filing that includes the photos contains "reckless and unjustified allegations" against Jackson, the lawyers wrote.
All parties are scheduled to be back in bankruptcy court March 17 to address a possible settlement, but Nevins wants Jackson and his lawyers back sooner to address the disclosure issues. No date has been set.
This just goes to show you, be careful what you post on social media, because everyone is watching - employers, law enforcement, future employers....
