Duct Tape Prom Outfits May Win Two Students $10,000 - Vote Below

Stuck at Prom competition

When it was time for Jarron Jones of Lithonia to go shopping for his prom attire this year, he hit the stores like everyone else. The only difference is Jarron was in search of duct tape.
Seventy rolls of duct tape and 198 hours later, Jones' tuxedo and his date, Ella Coleman's dress were ready for the big night.
Jones are Coleman entered the Duck Brand Duct Tape Stuck at Prom Scholarship competition this year. To compete, high school students construct their prom attire out of the company's duct tape.
"Many days were spent deciding the perfect design," Jones told the competition's organizers. 'A more up to date, current look, with a unique twist was my goal."
The school's prom theme was "Roaring Twenties" this year. That gave Jones the idea for his color scheme - red, black and gold.
"My design of my date's dress consisted of a low v-neck top and a high-low detachable skirt with long train. The entire skirt was covered with gold and red roses with added glitter to give more life."
The attire was adaptable, too. Coleman's skirt could be removed to transform the outfit into a romper, suitable for the after party. Jones' outfit was good for the prom and post-party, too.

"Instead of the typical black tuxedo jacket and pants, I was inspired by the uniqueness of the matador’s Jacket, and having shorts for my bottom," Jones said. "During or after prom, the jacket can be removed to a simple gold and black vest."
Stuck at Prom competition organizers named the couple one of its 10 finalists. The winning couple will take home $10,000 each in scholarships. Vote for the couple by clicking here.
