The Many Benefits of Siberian Ginseng

Image result for Eleutherococcus
Siberian Ginseng, or Eleutherococcus, is another popularly known type of ginseng, along with Chinese and American ginseng. Like the other forms of ginseng, it has the capacity to increase energy, reduce fatigue, and strengthen the body. The use of Siberian ginseng can especially benefit people who exhibit the signs associated with what acupuncturists call "Qi deficiency". The symptoms of Qi deficiency include a pale face, pale tongue, a pulse slower than 72 beats per minute, low energy, poor digestion, and a low appetite.
Siberian ginseng is particularly useful for people with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy. Research in China has shown it to have anti-tumor properties. It appears to inhibit growth of tumors and to discourage tumor metastasis to other sites in the body. It has also been shown to reduce the negative effects of radiation and chemotherapy. Siberian ginseng helps to protect against leukopenia, or low white blood cell count, due to chemotherapy. It appears to boost the immune system and increase the formation of antibodies.
It is also useful in people with adult onset diabetes because it can help lower blood sugar levels. Blood sugar levels should always be monitored when taking an herb that can lower blood sugar, so that you can keep your blood sugar level stable, and so your physician can adjust your medication accordingly. Unlike Chinese ginseng, Eleutherococcus has a blood pressure regulating effect. It appears to normalize both high and low blood pressure. It does not increase heart rate like Chinese ginseng does. As a result, it is a safer herb than Chinese ginseng for people with cardiovascular problems. It can be useful for people with angina pectoris and it also appears to help relieve a tendency towards having heart palpitations.
Siberian ginseng also appears to improve memory and improve mental function. It may also prevent altitude sickness. In low doses, Eleutherococcus has a sedative effect and is useful for people with insomnia, and in higher doses, it has a stimulant effect. It has also been shown to relieve the pain of arthritis and rheumatism. Siberian ginseng has been shown to improve auditory and visual acuity in stressful conditions and to increase people's tolerance to stress in general.
Siberian ginseng is useful for people undergoing a great deal of mental or physical stress and for people who are weak and debilitated as a result of prolonged illness or old age. People with cancer undergoing chemotherapy, people with AIDS or HIV, and people with fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue syndrome may particularly benefit from the use of Siberian ginseng. Siberian ginseng is a truly powerful and relatively safe herb that can be useful for many different types of chronic health conditions, especially when these conditions are a result of Qi deficiency or low energy.
