Gucci Mane Sentenced to Three Additional Years for Bottle Incident

Gucci Mane will face travel restrictions on release from prison photo

Yesterday, rapper, Gucci Mane pleaded guilty to assault charges stemming from a nightclub incident on March 16, 2014.
According to reports, Gucci was in the VIP section of a nightclub when an Army sergeant entered the VIP area trying to take a picture with the rapper, at which time the sergeant was hit with a bottle.
District Attorney Paul Howard:
“Rather than accommodating the admiring fan, Davis, for no explicable reason, instead, hit the victim over the head with a vodka bottle and then hurriedly left the club,” District Attorney Howard said. “The victim sustained a deep laceration to his forehead which required 10 stitches.”
Now Gucci has been convicted of multiple previous charges -- battery conviction in 2011, assault in 2005, as well as a murder charge back in 2005, following a shooting of a Macon rapper that allegedly attacked him.  Those charges were lessened to battery in 2008, when witnesses were unwilling to testify.
This follows recent news that indicated Gucci would be released one year early for a different sentencing regarding weapons charges.
