At Least 106 Former NY Cops, Firefighters and City Workers to be Charged in Social Security Scam with More to Come...

The probe began after Social Security officials grew suspicious about a spate of similar diagnoses and alerted the feds.

More than 100 former firefighters, police officers, and other city workers will be arrested today after faking disabilities to get Social Security benefits ranging from $30,000 to $50,000 yearly, according to NBC 4 New York.

Check this out:  One police officer who claimed he was mentally disabled was allegedly working as a karate instructor.

Another was allegedly flying helicopters, and one even received benefits because of a fear of crowds, but he wasn't too afraid to sell cannolis at the San Gennaro Festival.

Many also claimed to be affected by their efforts on 9/11, yet investigators found many were not even near ground zero that day.

As sad as it sounds, it gets even deeper because two lawyers and taught these individuals how to scam the system.  Cash payments were allegedly left on park benches in exchange for this information.

The criminal charges expected to be announced today and in total will include 106 people. An additional 300 to 400 former city workers are also under the microscope.

Of course, law enforcement agencies declined to comment.
