Pastor Marvin Winans Refuses to Bless Babies of Unwed Mothers (Video)

When Charity Grace, joined the Perfecting Church, church of gospel singer, Marvin Winans, she was shocked to learn that, "Pastor Winans doesn't bless babies of unwed mothers in front of the congregation," according to one of the staff.
What!  In front of the congregation!  Well, if a child of an unwed mother doesn't need a blessing, who does.  And who is he to make that decision.  God doesn't judge so why should he?
This is a woman who joined the church, obviously to get closer to God and have her son raised by the teachings of the Lord, and here this man is saying he will not bless her child.
Many of us can relate to the stigma of having a child/children out of wedlock, and sometimes feeling the shame of doing so.  She could have aborted the child or given him up for adoption, but she chose to stand tall and be a mother to the child she created. And now this Pastor - this Pastor whose past is not so squeaky clean, has the nerve to say he will not bless babies of unwed mothers.
So his defense is, he didn't say these children couldn't be blessed; they just couldn't be blessed in front of the congregation.  My take on it is, "Bring your child in during the week, so someone - not me (I have better things to do) - can bless them in secret.  Maybe God won't see that this is going on. uh, no...!
This is so disturbing to me, and I guess since it's his church, he can make the rules, but I thought the church was the Lord's house.
“I want to instill values and morals in my son based upon the word of God,” she told Fox 2 Detroit.  “I absolutely would not set foot back in the church right now because I feel like they look down upon me and my kind, meaning single moms and unwed mothers,” Grace said.
Pope Francis recently said in May that the Catholic Church should bless children born out of wedlock, because their mothers chose life over abortion.
“’Look at this girl who had had the courage to carry her pregnancy to term. … “What does she find? A closed door,” he said, according to Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano. “This is not good pastoral zeal, it distances people from the Lord and does not open doors.”
Dr. Jacqui Lewis is the Senior Minister of Middle Collegiate Church in Manhattan's East Village. She told The Huffington Post she was surprised that a child "of any kind" would be denied a blessing from a church, and referenced the Gospel of Mark, 10:10-16:
"People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them."
Should Pastor Winans never be allowed to drive again, because he was caught driving with a suspended license?
Should Pastor Winans not be allowed to remarry because he got a divorce?
At the end of the day, he can pretty much do what he wants to do in his church, but how can people be members of a church that shuns innocent children.
What do you think?
