Ex-Bronco's Player Impregnates Sexual Assault Victim - Denies Having Sex with Victim

Former Denver Broncos cornerback Perrish Cox is being tried on one count of sexual assault while the victim was physically helpless, and one count of sexual assault while the victim was incapable of determining the nature of the conduct.

Cox denies having sex with the woman, whose identity is being protected. Although she told the court she could not recall sleeping with Cox, paternity tests showed the player's DNA matched that of her baby.

Prosecutors in Castle Rock, Colorado are wrapping up their case, and Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas gave evidence for the prosecution yesterday.

The court heard that Cox had been partying with Thomas, the alleged victim and Cox's former girlfriend Carthy Che, on the night of 5 and 6 September 2010.

Thomas testified that the woman fell unconscious at Cox's apartment, where the group had returned after leaving a nightclub.

He said Cox then carried her into a bedroom, telling Thomas, 'I think she's ready.'
