Making Your Relationships Work

Last night I cried tears of joy with a client I had worked with through her long search for the perfect mate. As she and I agreed, there is no such thing but something very close. She felt so moved that she had finally gotten her wounds from the past out of the way, so that she could find and receive this kind of love.
She knew that she wanted more than her family said was possible. Yet she had dated so many partners who were unable to give love or were failing at being responsible in life. She felt like she had dated them all by the time that she came to me for counseling. We took the focus off the guys and had her look at what was stopping her inside. She had not received a lot of love in her family and that is what she kept attracting to her since this was familiar. She needed to open up, recognize this, and then we could start some healing.
Her dating continued to be with imperfect matches, but she was getting closer. Finally she found the man of her dreams. They still work on the little stuff (the infrequent irritable reply etc.) that happens in day to day life. They don't let that little stuff pile up under the rug though. One of them says that they are sorry. She now feels self confident that they can work at it being good. I feel a wedding in the future, but they are taking their time to make sure that it is right.
We all grow up having many experiences that are good for us and some that have hurt us. Maybe we had a jealous older sister, or a nasty kid in the neighborhood, or maybe a stepdad or step mom who really didn't nurture us. Maybe your family taught you that you can't have your dreams come true. Maybe you had good years at school and yet an infrequent trauma. Life holds it all.

Ray Lewis & Baby Mama Drama....

ray lewisNFL superstar Ray Lewis admits he fathered an 11-year-old boy in Florida and he has NO problem supporting the child EXCEPT  he doesn’t want the mother to get her hands on the money. Hmm, What’s going on?
It seems Lewis is involved in an ongoing paternity case with a woman named Sharnika Kelly, reports TMZ. In court papers, Lewis acknowledges being the father, but the issue of support is slightly more contentious :
According to the docs, Lewis is hesitant to fork over money to Kelly because he says she has an outstanding judgment against her in a civil case … totaling over $1,000,000.
In the docs, Lewis says he has “grave concerns about the Mother’s character” and feels she’ll siphon off money meant for his son … either to pay off her debt or support her other child … not Ray’s.
Lewis is asking the court to establish a guardianship for his son to manage any support Lewis eventually pays.
The couple had a hearing scheduled for last month, but Lewis had to reschedule because he had a game in San Diego. The judge has yet to rule on his request.

VIDEO: Kevin Hart Shares Why His Shows Loved By So Many

kevin hart

Comedian/actor Kevin “Chocolate Drop” Hart was on the Power 105 Breakfast Club recently to promote his role in the Steve Harvey film “Think Like A Man.”
Needless to say it was a very entertaining and even informative interview and very funny, of course. Speaking of which, he didn’t even come close to even uttering a single cuss word and he was still a side-splitter. Of course he WAS on the radio. Hello! But the key was the fact that he came off as a sincere, honest and very likeable guy. Who knew he was so articulate and astute?
Props to Charlamange Tha God, DJ Envy and Angela Yee for another great interview.

Chrissy Lampkin & Jim Jones Expecting???

According to a MTO snitch, 40-year old and Jim had been trying for years to get pregnant, and had basically given up…they were like” if it happens, it happens.”
Well a few weeks ago, Chrissy missed her period. She took a pregnancy test last week and it supposedly turned up POSITIVE.
Only time will tell.
